Workplace chat evidence can look informal. In serious investigations, it can become highly consequential.
Microsoft Teams, Slack, and similar platforms may contain messages, reactions, edits, deleted content, timestamps, channels, direct messages, files, calls, links, and activity indicators. These records may help explain what happened, when it happened, who participated, and how conduct was understood.
They can also be easy to misread when reviewed out of context.
Why Chat Evidence Requires Context
A single message may not show the full sequence. A reaction may be ambiguous. A deleted or edited message may matter, but only if the platform records support what occurred. A screenshot may show part of a chat but not the full thread, channel, or timing.

Does the evidence support the conclusion being considered?
